Eagles, Elks and Elms, Oh my!
The Land between the Lakes is located in Golden Pond Kentucky! It is about an hour and half outside Nashville. If you need to get out of the city and enjoy some nature this is the place to go.
We went in January because this is the time that the eagles mate. It was probably the largest number of eagles I have ever seen! It was such a great sight to see them out in the wild.
We also got to get up close and personal to some baby Elk from the comfort of our car when we drove through the Elk and Bison Prairie. It is about a 3.5 mile loop and you can drive around as many times as you would like. It is also super cheap, only $5 per car. It is well worth the money. We happened to go when the Bison were off getting checked by the vet. This check happens twice a year but I still think that this was worth it.
They have a ton of hiking trails and if you are into camping some really gorgeous campgrounds. Who wouldn’t want a gorgeous waterfront view to wake up to!I think this little escape is a great idea to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
This was a nice day outside of the city! Enjoy the scenery!
