Disney Animal Kingdom’s Wild Adventure

Let’s get a little wild!  Disney animal kingdom is one of my favorite parks at Disney World. Not only does it have great food and rides but it is home to some really cool animals.  Animal Kingdom is a mix between a theme park and zoo, probably my favorite things in this world.  This is a full day park because there is so much to explore.

The rides at this park are pretty impressive.  Here are my top three rides and this park.

  1. Flight of passage This ride in my opinion one of the best rides in Disney World.  The wait times for this ride can be a little extreme.  This is where  Genie will help you.  We paid $15 dollars a piece to skip the lines and it was glorious.  I would do it again as this is worth every penny and skips the incredible long line.  In this ride you explore Pandora on the back of a banshee.  This ride is like soaring on crack with way more excitement. Highly recommend this ride.  I will note that this ride is not for every body type so make sure you are comfortable in your seat before embarking on your journey through Pandora.
  2. Expedition Everest This ride is a really cool Disney Coaster.  The line has some really cool artifacts to look at. Keep your eyes peeled for Yeti and remember to smile.  This is a ride that will take your photo! This line will vary through the day.  We rope dropped this attraction and were able to ride this ride multiple times in a row before the crowd showed up.
  1. Kilimanjaro Safari  Who hasn’t dreamed of going on an African Safari.  This ride has you exploring the different animals that you would find on a safari.  I loved seeing the giraffes, elephants and lions. It is a really relaxing time and gets you off your feet for twenty minutes while you learn about the different animals. I have been on this ride multiple times of day.  Animals seem more active in the morning and at night.  Although it is harder to see the animals, hearing them is super cool.

Now let us move on to the food!  I love to eat my way through Disney.  My must eat for Animal kingdom are..

  1. Yak and the Yeti This one you will need a reservation for, reservations can be booked a few months in advance and totally worth it.  This restaurant has some of the best asian cuisine.  It is also a great way to escape the heat and the craziness of the park.  I love the sweet and sour chicken and the wontons!
  2. Satu’li Canteen We go here for their dessert.  They have this blueberry mousse cheesecake that is to die for!  It is so delicious and looks very cool.

Another really cool thing to do in is the animal trails.  It is like visiting a mini zoo.  The cast members are so knowledgeable and gave so many interesting facts!  I could have listened to them describe the coolest traits each animal had to offer. Also at the top of the hour they have birds that fly over your heads, some people like this but to me I found it terrifying.

I love Animal Kingdom and I think there is something there for everyone! So much to see and do, it is worth taking a full day here.
