The Great USA

Empire State Escapades, New York City

There’s something electric about New York City, a pulse you can feel the moment you arrive. The towering skyline, the endless hum of traffic, the energy of millions of people chasing dreams, it’s no wonder they call it The City That Never Sleeps. I recently packed my bags and set out to experience the magic of NYC firsthand, from iconic landmarks to hidden neighborhood gems. Whether you’re planning your first visit or returning for another taste of the Big Apple, join me as I explore the sights, sounds, flavors, and unforgettable moments that make New York City one of the most captivating destinations in the world

Day 1

-Skirt Steak

This was my favorite meal that I had in New York and it was right next door to our hotel.  The menu is very simplistic. Salad,Skirt Steak, Fries. You can get extra which includes brussel sprouts with bacon, garlic mushrooms, cheesy cauliflower and the best one Garlic Bread. The steak melted in your mouth and the french fries were delicious. Simple but effective. This location also had a vast drink menu!  I will go back here again! So good.

Day 2

Gregory

As a whole I was not impressed with coffee in New York City. Gregory was good for a plain black cup of coffee.  I did not like the speciality drinks.  You could not taste the flavors.  It was clean and  a convenient place to stop by our hotel but I would not say it is a must do.

-Ess-a Bagels

This was my favorite bagel place that we went to on the long weekend!  I got a breakfast sandwich and ADam got a plain bagel with chive cream cheese.  I ditched my bagel so quickly and ate the second half of his.  It was freaking delish. Sitting is hard to come by and the line was long but went quickly.  I would stop by here for sure the next time I was in New York!

Harry Potter Store

I am a Harry Potter Lover. I reread the books yearly, and I rewatch the movies. It is a deep love. It is a magical place to escape to at any age and I will die on that hill.  New York City has a unique Harry Potter store that all Harry Potter lovers should go to. If you kids are Harry Potter lovers, take them.  It is room to room enchantment and cool to look at all the movie artifacts and merchandise the franchise has come up with. The picture opportunities are endless. You can also finish your with a nice cold butterbeer that is served in a souvenir cup.

Cursed Child

I love Broadway shows!  I have season tickets for tours coming through Nashville. This is the most jaw dropping magical play I have ever seen. I spent half the show trying to figure out how they were doing and still left the show spellbound. They have great merchandise and it changes at intermission. They also have magical drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic . Our tickets were pricey. The cost was worth it!

Aubi&Ramsa

This was probably the best ice cream I have ever had, and it was boozy!  We went with the White Russian and I wish I could have tried them all!  I will be going back here in the future and I hope to try more flavors!

Day 3

-World Trade

We did not do the World Trade Center Museum but we did walk back and look at where the tower stood.  Living through that piece of history is something I would never forget.  I can tell you how I found out, where I was, and the aftermath of the attack. It is a peaceful place to remember the unthinkable. I will walk into the museum one day because I have heard it is masterfully done

Liberty Bagels

Is this a tourist trap or a local delight not sure but the bagel was really good.  I am not sure if it is a New York thing to put an obnoxious amount of cream cheese… Listen, I am here for it.  This is the home of the rainbow bagel.  No seating in the place but great seating right out side!

-Milk

This is a very popular and iconic soft serve ice cream place. The ice cream taste like the milk left after eating a sugary cereal. We went really basic but next time I would really bougie it up. It was really good!  I saw it on TV and knew I had to give it a try.

Yankees Game

Catching a ball game is always such a fun option!  I really enjoyed my experience at the park.  We had great seats that I bought on stub hub the night before the game for the best rate seats in the best section.  I was slightly disappointed in the food here. I could not find a hot dog and had to settle for a burger. It was a good burger!

Cap’t Loui Seafood Boil

I had calm chowder and it was good.  A little chunkier than I would like but not bad for someone who is not a seafood lover.  ADam on the other hand is a seafood lover!  He said this was the best seafood he has ever had in life.  It was a pretty penny so it better be. This place prepares you for the meal.  You get a bib, gloves, and mints. ADam said it is worth the cost and would go back more and more.

Hotel Kimpton Hotel Eventi

I really liked this hotel!  Free wine everyday, and someone is always at the door to greet you. Clean and quiet! There is so much to in walking distant from the hotel.  Great location and great views!  We had a view of the Empire State Building!  I will stay at this hotel again!

New York City swept me off my feet with its unmatched energy, unforgettable eats, and moments of pure magic. From indulging in mouthwatering meals to exploring iconic landmarks and experiencing Broadway brilliance, every day offered something new and exciting. Whether it was the enchantment of the Harry Potter universe, the quiet reflection at the World Trade Center, or the simple joy of the perfect bagel, this trip was filled with highlights I won’t soon forget.
